The April issue of National Geographic magazine features the pictures from the Great Sand Dunes National Park taken by John Weller who attended the Summit Workshop five years ago — and showed those pictures to both Chris Johns and David Schonauer. Schonauer ran a spread in American Photo later that year and now, the Geographic has published those pictures. The networking John was able to do at the Summit also resulted in an exhibition of those pictures two years later in the National Museum of Wildlife Art, concurrent with that year’s Summit Workshop. His stunning pictures and insightful text also resulted in a book, "Between Light and Shadow" that was published as the sand dunes area near Alamosa, Co. was designated a national park.
